Audition – Jan. 9 & 10 

The show will be directed by Jim Russell
 
The Director is looking to cast:Ida, the Cockney maid, a plain but likeable girl, 20s; Miss Skillon, a rather sour spinster, 40s plus; The Reverend Lionel Toop, the vicar, somewhat staid, 30s; Penelope Toop, his wife, younger than him, former actress; Corporal Clive Winton, a handsome US Air Force corporal; The Intruder, adult male; The Bishop of Lax, large, jovial-looking man, 50s plus; The Reverend Arthur Humphrey, a mild little man, 40s plus; Sergeant Towers, adult male.
 
The show is a fast-moving comedy by Philip King, with six men and 3 women in the cast (all adults). Galloping in and out of the four doors of an English vicarage are an American actor (stationed with the air force in England), a former actress, a cockney maid, an “old maid” who ‘touches alcohol for the first time and becomes roaring drunk, four men in clergyman suits presenting the problem of which is which, for disguised as one is an escaped prisoner, and a sedate Bishop aghast at all these goings on and the trumped-up stories they tell him.
There is lots of fast-paced coming and going all during this play.
 
Auditions will be held at City Theatre, 4025 31st Street S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712; performances will be March 2 through 18, 2012 with 9 performances.

The director is looking to cast:
 
Males:
Corban, 20's-40's., wide range, actor must have great comic timing and            sustain a great range of emotion
           Inspector Levine, 30's-60's, wide range, sarcastic but jovial
Father Kelleher, 40's-60's, wide range, can play typical priestly but can                    change like a chameleon.
Sidney, 30's-60's, typical Catskill proud deli owner who gets caught up in a      murder plot (This role can be played by a woman)
           Mr. Parker, 40's-50's, calm and cool business owner
 
Females:
Elizabeth Corban, 20's-40's, quick witted, bold, sassy and sly with the ability to "play" sweet  innocence
Mrs. Parker, 30's-40's, referred to as "The Blonde", prize possession of Mr.Parker
 
All those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.
 
 
Overflowing with mirth, this Broadway whodunit is exciting from beginning to end. An advertising man who has brought his bride to the boss' mountain lodge for a honeymoon calls in the local police to investigate her sudden disappearance. Enter a pretty young girl insists over his protests that she is the missing wife. A priest backs up her story. A funny little man who owns a delicatessen enters and before you know it there are two murders at the isolated lodge.
 
Auditions will be held at City Theatre, 4025 31st Street S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712; performances will be April 20 through May 6, 2012 with 9 performances.
